Job Description
o To work as a part of a cooperative team on client properties, performing lawn and garden maintenance services. o To perform maintenance services with a high degree of professionalism o To work safely at all times, in accordance to the Ontario Health and Safety Act o Prove competence after appropriate training (safe starting, operation, maintenance and • transport) of various landscaping equipment: lawn mower, ride on mower, line trimmer, • back pack blower, hedge trimmer, aerator, de-thatcher, and slit seeder, as required by • foreman. • Work safely, wear appropriate personal protective equipment and demonstrate hazard awareness at all times. • Report materials used to foreman. • Report damage to properties and equipment to foreman. • Learn and demonstrate PINEWOOD process standards in relation to jobs performed, including but not limited to: turf maintenance, garden cultivation and weeding, shrub and annual planting, hedge trimming and pruning, spring and fall property clean ups, leaf vacuum operation, soil work and overseeding etc. • Participate in training sessions and be committed to ongoing learning. • Participate in meetings. • Be capable of being a backup driver for route as necessary. • Begin to learn the Jobber Information System. • Practice and respect the Field Employee Guidelines. • Be prepared to start work on time and to work extended hours as necessary (including Saturdays). • Respect: treats others with professional courtesy • Honesty and integrity: does not cut corners ethically; speaks plainly and truthfully • Intelligence: learns quickly, demonstrates the ability to absorb and understand new • information • Attention to detail: does not let important details slip through the cracks • Proactive: shows initiative when it comes to performing tasks on site; anticipates • potential concerns and acts and communicates appropriately • Work ethic: willingness to work long hours to get the job done, track record of working • hard • Teamwork: recognizes the importance of working with others to achieve common goals • Enthusiasm/Motivation/Achievement oriented: can-do attitude; interest in learning • new skills and attending work related training • Chemistry: good cultural fit with other field staff • Computer skills: smartphone • Some field or outside labour experience; willing to work outdoors in all weather • conditions • Must be available to work 7:00am - 6pm Monday to Friday, Saturdays in spring and fall, • Physically fit, able to lift 40 lbs.
