We are pleased to announce that JobStart is one of the Employment Ontario service providers selected to deliver the Ministry of Training and Colleges and Universities’ new youth employment program: Youth Job Connection.
Located at JobStart’s 219 Dufferin Street, Ste. 1C site;
Youth Job Connection starts October 1st, 2015.
This employment program is designed to help young people between the ages of 15 and 29 overcome barriers to employment and gain valuable skills and experience. The program offers 60+ hours of in class job search training and career exploration combined with a paid work placement to increase confidence and readiness for employment. Ongoing job coaching, mentoring and transition to further employment and /or educational pursuits is a fundamental aspect of this program.
Another component of the program is the Youth Job Connection: Summer program for students 15-18 years of age. This component of the program will be launched in the spring of 2016. The summer program will include 20 hours of job search skills training as well as an eight week paid employment experience.
We welcome all interested youth to contact our Dufferin location to speak with a JobStart Youth Job Connection employee at 416-231-2295 extension 5731 or extension 5734.
